Tamara Grant

Collective(s):

Tamara Grant is a proudly Māori, autistic, and dyslexic artist whose multidisciplinary work as a painter, designer, and writer reflects a deep commitment to authenticity, inclusion, and transformation. A mother of two and founder of Xabilities—Aotearoa’s first Neurodiversity Centre—Tamara creates from the lived experience of navigating chronic illness, mental health challenges, and the intersecting worlds of disability and te ao Māori.

Her art is a powerful expression of identity, resilience, and wairua. Each piece carries the story of reclaiming mana through creativity—of shifting from stigma and exclusion to celebration and self-determination. Tamara’s practice is grounded in her whakapapa, in mātauranga Māori, and in the belief that inclusion is not a concept but a lived creative act. T
