Andrea Eve Hopkins is a contemporary Māori painter, digital creator, curator, and educator.
Encouraged by senior clay artist Manos Nathan, Hopkins studied at Toihoukura under renowned painter and educator Sandy Adsett, travelling internationally with her peers. She has exhibited and curated nationally and internationally, building connections with a wide network of Indigenous artists.
Hopkins is recognised for her refined painting style, applying many thin layers of acrylic with metallic tints to evoke the subtle patterns and colours of Northland. Her work shifts between surrealism, realism, and abstraction, drawing on Māori motifs to explore identity, duality, and strength.
