Anahera is a passionate Māori visual artist whose practice is grounded in raranga and enriched by her love of painting. A graduate of Toihoukura (2004–2007), she holds a Diploma in Visual Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Her art bridges ancestral knowledge and contemporary expression, honouring Te Taiao through the weave and reflecting the evolving world through paint.
A prolific and committed maker, Anahera’s works are held in significant public collections, including Te Papa Tongarewa. Her creative identity is deeply entwined with her mahi — “I am my art and my art is me.” Through raranga, she maintains an active connection to whakapapa and whenua, while her painting practice explores the dynamic realities of the present.
